Bruno Hovart

Bruno Hovart is a producer, multi-instrumentalist, sound illustrator and remixer. After spending time in Angers, Birmingham and London, he has been based in Lyon since 2001. Active since the mid-90s, his musical style ranges from rock to jazz, through Jamaican and African music, electro and soul. For his solo projects, he performs under various aliases: Patchworks, Patchworks Galactic Project, Uptown Funk Empire, Mr President, Taggy Matcher and Voilaaa. On stage, he mainly plays bass guitar. He is involved in, or has been part of, bands such as Mr President, Hawa, John Milk, Lightnin 3, Mr Day and The Dynamics. Bruno “Patchworks” Hovart has worked with numerous labels, including Favorite Recordings (Paris), Acid Jazz (London), Still Music (Chicago), Infracom (Frankfurt), Quieres Circles (Los Angeles), Feel Music (Seoul), Level Two Music (Melbourne), Sweet Soul (Tokyo), Soultronik (Strasbourg) and Kolour Recordings (Houston/Detroit), among others.
