Administrative and Editorial Management

Description of works management

Illustration

Editorial management continues to grow in importance with the emergence of publishing companies that do not want to lose time with the many constraints weighing on publishing.

Publishers seeking to free themselves from tedious tasks therefore turn to either more structured publishers or service providers specializing in this activity to ensure the management of their publishing catalog. Editorial management of a publishing catalog is very common among publishing companies controlled by performers, artist managers, audiovisual producers, film producers, advertising agencies, and broadcasters.

My missions:

- Admission of the publishing company to SACEM - Drafting of assignment and publishing contracts - Drafting of deposit documents (audiovisual technical sheet, musical report, declaration bulletins) - Filing of works, films, documentaries with SACEM, administrative follow-up and control - Management of authorizations for exploitation of works granted to third parties - Receipt of distribution data

The manager's remuneration is in the form of a percentage of editorial rights, which percentage may vary depending on the nature of services rendered (generally around 15%, the rate may be lower if certain services are not handled by the manager). The editorial management contract must be submitted to SACEM's legal department.
